Fabric Selection Tips
Within these quilt instructions, the following colors will be used to represent the fabrics:
- It is suggested that a solid or a tone-on-tone print that reads as a solid be used for the background fabric.
- Due to the finished fabric piece sizes and piecing methods for the quilt top, it is recommended that fabric prints used have a non-directional design.
- Each of the fabric yardages above may be made using scraps of similar colors instead of a single fabric if desired. Generally, the pieces within the quilt will be 6 ½” x 6 ½” or smaller.
- Within the quilt, each of the fabrics A, B, and C are adjacent the background fabric, but none of the fabrics A, B, or C are next to each other.
- In these instructions, the background is shown as white, but the quilt design looks very good with other colors and tones of background (light, medium, and dark) as long as the fabrics A, B, and C have good contrast with the background color.
- You can use any fabric you would like for the border (it will be next to the background fabric and none of the fabrics A-C). In the instructions, fabric A will be used for the border.
