Fall Mystery 2023 – Quilt Assembly

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Fabric A:

  • Cut 8 – 4 1⁄2” x WOF strips (for Outer Border)

Fabric B:

  • Cut 7 – 2 1⁄2” x WOF strips (for Inner Border)

Fabric F:

  • Cut 8 – 1 1⁄2” x WOF strips (for middle Border)

QUILT TOP ASSEMBLY:

  1. Lay out blocks in seven rows of five blocks each, alternating Block 1 & 2 as shown below.
  2. Sew Blocks together into rows. Then sew rows together to complete the quilt center.
  3. Join the 7 – 2 1⁄2” Fabric B inner border strips end to end. From the long strip, cut 2 – 2 1⁄2” x length of your quilt top (84 1⁄2”) strips and add to each side of the quilt top. Press toward the border. Then cut 2 – 2 1⁄2” x Width of your quilt top (64 1⁄2”) strips and add to the top & bottom of the quilt top. Press toward the border.
  4. Join the 8 – 1 1⁄2” Fabric F middle border strips end to end. From the long strip, cut 2 – 1 1⁄2” x length of your quilt top (88 1⁄2”) strips and 2 – 1 1⁄2 x Width of your quilt top (66 1⁄2”) strips. Add to the quilt top in the same manner as in Step 3.
  5. Join the 8 – 4 1⁄2” Fabric A outer border strips end to end. From the long strip, cut 2 – 4 1⁄2” x length of your quilt top (90 1⁄2”) strips and 2 – 4 1⁄2” x Width of your quilt top (74 1⁄2”) strips. Add to the quilt top in the same manner as in Step 3.
  6. Join the nine Fabric B binding strips using diagonal seams. Fold in half along the length of the strip with wrong sides together and press.
  7. Layer quilt top with batting and prepared backing. Quilt as desired.
  8. Bind using your favorite method.
