Everything has been starting to open back up again and it was my first day back to work. It was a cold and rainy day and I thought it was a great day to make a bowl. I had my strips cut and ready to go awhile ago.
I used the Timeless Treasures Fortuna by Chong-a Hwang. (unfortunately we sold out of the stripe fabric).

I like to cut my strips at 1/2 inch, I find that they wrap nicer.
I love the gold and shimmer in the fabric so I thought I would try a metallic thread, when you make a bowl the outside of the bowl is down so I wound the metallic thread in the bobbin and used a Gutterman thread on top that matched.

I used Glide Glisten – Indigo

If I am making a bowl that has 2 different fabrics then I like to wrap a bit and sew a bit, so I can judge if I want a bigger or smaller base and how high up to make the sides. I felt like this bowl needed to be big.

Here is my fished bowl. I decided not to use the blue fabric.

You can see along the edge of the picture how the glide thread sparkles.
