
CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Fabric 2 Contrast:
- Cut (4) 4-3/4” x 4-3/4” squares. Sub-cut each once diagonally into (8) HST.
- Cut (4) 4-5/8” x 4-5/8”. Sub-cut each once diagonally into (8) HST.
Fabric 3 Dark:
- Cut (4) 8-3/8” x 8-3/8” squares. Sub-cut each once diagonally into (8) HST.
Fabric 5 Light:
- Cut (8) 4-1/4” x 4-1/4” squares.
- Cut (4) 4-3/4” x 4-3/4” squares. Sub-cut each once diagonally into (8) HST.
- Cut (4) 4-5/8” x 4-5/8”. Sub-cut each once diagonally into (8) HST.
- Cut (2) 8-3/4” x 8-3/4” squares. Sub-cut each twice diagonally into (8) Quarter-square triangles (QST).
PIECING INSTRUCTIONS:
Make (8) HST units withthe 4-3/4” Fabric 2 and Fabric5 HSTs. Press to Fabric 5. Trimto 4-1/4” square.


Sew (2) Fabric 2/5 HST units to (2) 4-1/4” Fabric5 squares to create a Four-patch. Press in the direction of the arrows.Make (4) Four-patch units. Unit should measure 8” square.


Make a Flying Geese unit with (2) 4-5/8” Fabric 2 HST and (1) 8-3/4” Fabric 5 QST. Press to Fabric 2. Make (4).
Sections should equal 4-1/4” x 8”.


Sew a 4-5/8” Fabric 5 HST to each side of the FG units. Press to Fabric 5.


Matching centers, sew an 8-3/4” Fabric 5 QST to the bottom of the FG units. Press to Fabric 5.


Sew two 8-3/8” Fabric 3 HST to each side of the pieced units from step 4. Press to Fabric 3.This unit should equal 8” x 15-1/2”.


Layout the (4) Flying Geese units, (4) Four-patch units and the center section from Part1 as shown. Sew patches across. Sew rows together. Press in the direction of the arrows.Unit should equal 30-1/2” square.
