CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Fabric 1 background:
- Cut (1) 2-7/8” x WOF strip. Sub-cut into (10)2-7/8” x 2-7/8” squares then cut each once diagonally into (20) HST.
- Cut (2) 2-1/2” x WOF strips. Sub-cut into (20)2-1/2” x 2-1/2” squares.
- Cut (2) 5-1/4” x WOF strips. Sub-cut into (10)5-1/4” x 5-1/4” squares, then cut each twice diagonally into (40) QST.
Fabric 2 Contrast:
- Cut (1) 3-1/4” x WOF strips. Sub-cut into (10)3-1/4” x 3-1/4” squares then cut each twice diagonally into (40) QST.
- Fabric 3 Dark purple:
- Cut (1) 3-1/4” x WOF strips. Sub-cut into (10)3-1/4” x 3-1/4” squares then cut each twice diagonally into (40) QST.
Fabric 6 Main print:
- Cut (1) 2-7/8” x WOF strip. Sub-cut into (10)2-7/8” x 2-7/8” squares then cut each once diagonally into (20) HST.
Fabric 7 Medium:
- Cut (5) 2-7/8” x WOF strip. Sub-cut into (60)2-7/8” x 2-7/8” squares then cut each once diagonally into (120) HST.
PIECING INSTRUCTIONS:
Sew a 2-7/8” Fabric 1 HST to a2-7/8” Fabric 6 square as shown. Press to Fabric 6. Make (2). Trim to 2-1/2” square.
Make (4) FG units with (2)2-7/8” Fabric 7 HST and (1)5-1/4” Fabric 1 QST. Press to Fabric 7. Unit should equal2-1/2” x 4-1/2”.
Sew a 3-1/4” Fabric 2 QST to a 3-1/4” Fabric 3 QST as shown.Press to Fabric 3. Make (4).
Sew a 2-7/8” Fabric 7 HST to this QST unit. Press to Fabric 7.Make (4) QST/HST units. Unit should equal 2-1/2” square.
Sew (4) QST/HST units together to create the center of the block. Press center seam open to reduce bulk or twist seam. Unit should equal 4-1/2” square.
Layout (4) FG units, (2) 2-1/2” Fabric 1squares, (2) Fabric 1/6 HST units and (1) center unit as shown. Sew patches across then sew rows together. Press in the direction of the arrows. Block should equal 8-1/2” square. Make(10)Block 5.
